Upgrades to new versions of our software products, plus ongoing technical support, are provided under our maintenance program. We do not have "upgrade pricing" separate from the maintenance program, but you'll find that the end result is similar to the "upgrade prices" offered for other software products which don't have provisions for software maintenance.
The first 90 days maintenance is included in your purchase of the product; thereafter, annual maintenance is priced separately at an average of 20% of the then-current purchase price, e.g. $150 per year for the Premium Solver Plus or $200 per year for the Premium Solver Platform.
You are "current" on maintenance if it has been 90 days or less since you purchased the product, or 12 months or less since you last purchased annual maintenance. (We give you credit through the end of the month of your initial purchase, regardless of the day in the month of the actual transaction.)
If you are not "current," you can "catch up" by paying the standard maintenance amount from the date your maintenance expired -- provided that, as a result, you are covered for at least 6 months into the future, e.g. until September 30, 2001 as of March 31, 2001. When you "catch up," we allow you to pay for half-years, if desired, at half the annual rate.
Example: You purchased the Premium Solver Plus on July 15, 2000; you were covered through October 13, 2000 under the initial 90 days maintenance; to "catch up" as of July 1, 2001, you need to pay for at least 18 months' maintenance at $150 per year, or $225 total. This will give you maintenance until March 31, 2002.
If you are "current" on maintenance (or have "caught up") and you wish to upgrade from the Premium Solver to the Premium Solver Plus, you pay the difference in price or $750 - $495 = $255. If you own our earlier product, the Premium/Quadratic Solver V2.0, and you are "current" on maintenance (or have "caught up"), you can upgrade to the Premium Solver Plus for just $55.
Maintenance for the Large-Scale LP Solver V2.0 is priced at $300 per year. If you are not "current" on maintenance, you can "catch up" as outlined above.
Premium Solver Platform: The Large-Scale LP Solver is destined to become a component of a new group of products called the Premium Solver Platform. With this platform, you will be able to "mix and match" a broader range of small-scale and large-scale, linear and nonlinear solver "engines," plus youll be able to solve types of problems that are currently beyond the capabilities of any spreadsheet Solver.
Maintenance Savings: With the new capabilities of the Premium Solver Platform, the total cost of the Large-Scale LP Solver will be higher than today. But if you are current on maintenance when the Platform is released, youll receive an upgrade to it at no extra charge!
