Premium Solver for Microsoft Excel

[Dividing Line Image]

Frontline's Premium Solver for Microsoft Excel offers an easy and inexpensive way to greatly increase the capacity and speed of the Solver built-in to Microsoft Excel. Once the Premium Solver is installed, you can solve linear and quadratic programming problems of up to 800 variables, with no limit on constraints, or nonlinear problems of up to 400 variables and 200 constraints (in addition to bounds on the variables).

Fast Problem Setup. The Premium Solver features fast problem setup, which can make the "Setting Up Problem..." stage of the Excel Solver as much as 10 to 100 times faster when you build your model with certain common Excel functions. The actual solution process ("Trial Solutions" stage) can be three times faster or more for linear programming (LP) problems; three to ten times faster for mixed integer linear (MIP) problems; and up to ten times faster for quadratic programming (QP) problems when the optional Quadratic Solver is installed. Solution accuracy is also improved, particularly for QP problems.

After an easy Windows-based software installation, the Premium Solver replaces the built-in Solver in Microsoft Excel. Your existing worksheets, Solver models, and macro language code to control the Solver will work as before, and the user interface for defining your variables, constraints and objective is identical to the built-in Solver. A new drop-down list lets you select the desired Solver "engine." And a new option, "Bypass Solver Reports" (for speed), is included in the Solver Options dialog.

As the developers of Microsoft Excel's built-in Solver, we're uniquely able to integrate new and more powerful methods into the Solver framework. Besides providing greatly increased speed and capacity, the Premium Solver incorporates a number of bug fixes and minor algorithmic enhancements which are not yet available in the standard Microsoft Excel Solver.

The Premium Solver is priced at $495 ($695 with the Quadratic Solver option). Volume discounts are available. For more information please call Frontline Systems at (702) 831-0300, fax to (702) 831-0314, or send email to sales@frontsys.com.
